Draft Day!

Today is the NFL draft. It's a big deal in our house.

I needed to go to work today, but couldn't b/c Jason had to work. So the kids and I hit the streets and went to Target and the grocery store. Then we went to a Men's cook off at our church. It was nice to hang out and let the children play. Jason just got home and now him and Jonathan are tuned into ESPN watching the draft.

I'm not sure what I will do. I'm thinking of cleaning my pigstye of a scraproom. I know I will feel better in the end, and maybe will actully sit down and scrap, but I don't really want to. I think I'm going to go lay on floor in the living room and chill with my boys.

Still Alive

Not much going on. Yet so much going on.
My head is full of thoughts
None I want to share
If you've called me and I haven't called back
I'm sorry
Same with e-mails
I'm taking a little time for me and family right now
We need it
I need it
It's all about the Hallock's for awhile
Actually, it's all about Jason and Angel
How selfish! I love it.
Slowly we will integrate others back into our lives
Not now though
This is the key to our survival

My head and heart are heavy....

I have so many emotions running through me. I think I have experienced every human emotion in the last week.....

fear
disbelief
anger
shock
fury
pain
hurt
peace
lonely
guilt
nervous
insecure
judged
contempt
empty
detached
abandoned
dejected
glorious
free
ecstatic
unsure
loved
unloved

Wheew! That's list, but I have felt them all. Some for longer than others...Some are not gone yet, just in smaller doses. I despise uncertainty. I have had to trust God more in the last 6 days then I ever had in my entire life. I felt him, my strength came from him. Even Jason said he knew he was there. It's hard to deny feelings like that. It's even more difficult when you are feeling all of the above emotions, AND trusting in God because of the circumstances causing the emotions.

It's not all figured out yet. If it ever will be. I am taking it day by day, minute by minute. Admittedly some minutes are better then others. I'll be doing great, then a flash or memory from nowhere attacks me and I'm reduced to silence and sometimes tears.

People always talk about peace. How to get it. Where it comes from. It’s hard to get. Unless you know where to go. This morning I was about to throw up I was so apprehensive. I prayed for peace. I know others were praying for me too. No matter how hard you try to give something up to the Lord, human nature is to hold on to it. To fix it yourself. I know I can’t fix this alone. Honestly I don’t want to.

A very wise man said this to me:

You can’t fix this, only God can;
you can’t control this, only God can;

If you know me at all you know this is hard for me. So hard. I’m a fixer, I’m always in control….but I’m not right now. Part of me is going insane! I need to fix this! I need to make it right. Then there is another part…the part that is hard to hear…that part that says….

You helped break it....

only God can fix it…

only he can make it better…

give it to him…

your hurt…
your anger…
your frustration….
your guilt….
your trust…
your life…
your love…
give it all to Him……..

3 weeks....

That's a long time for no blog. I haven't felt like it. Nothing good to say. Plus I have been trying to limit my time on the puter.

Work is going well. I've pretty much grasped the concept of what I do. It's not hard. I only have questions when something is out of the ordinary. I can put on my cruise control and work all day with out much thought. That has come in handy a few times in the past few weeks. They have approved OT until the end of the month, so I'm going to try and get as much as possible. I'll need it for my deductible.

Yes, deductible. Last night a bad storm blew through with golf ball size hail. Wouldn't you know some of that hail found it's way to my windshield. Go figure. Thank the Lord I only have a 250 deducible. Not sure how much windshields cost...I'll call USAA today and start the process.

We got our new bed :) It's a queen size, adjustable sleep number bed. It was hard for us to go from a King to Queen, but I really wanted the adjustable. I'm so glad I did too! Totally worth it. I love that I can sit up in bed and watch to TV! Plus it has a massage function..... If anyone is on the fence about one of these baby's, don't be! Call Jason right now and order one. HE can ship anywhere.
www.selectcomfort.com

Beef.....it's no longer what is for dinner. Bison all the way baby! I had a bison burger in our cafeteria at work the other day and it ROCKED! Bison has way lower fat and calories then beef, turkey, and chicken. Basically any other animal :) And it's good! Beef has always had funny taste to me, but the bison didn't. It was so good. Now the bad part...it's so $$$$. Eating healthy costs so much money. I think that's the plan. That way you can't afford to eat junk in your time of weakness! I've been pretty dedicated for 2 weeks and I've lost 7 lbs. Only 105 to go! Wish me luck. If I can keep up this pace I'll be at my goal weight in 7.5 months.

I got my e-mail yesterday at work to sign up for benefits. AKA..insurance. I can not believe I will have to pay for medical coverage. Never in my adult life have I paid for medical. That is the 1(yes 1) thing I truly miss about Jason being in the service. Thankfully Countrywide has several p;ans to choose from based on your needs. So I have been a researching fool. Jason's job offers it too, but it's more expensive. His dental is better, we'll get that through his job. I'm going to try and get my sister a job at CW. She needs the insurance BAD! She's falling apart. Seriously, I just picked her arm up off the floor...I hate when she leaves her body parts laying around...hehehehhe. But seriously, she needs insurance.

Happy Saturday my friends.

2. plain or undistinguished

**MOD**

I am totally digging the 80's fashion comeback. I love the black and white polks dot shirts, the black and white stripe sweaters. The chunky beads in both braclet and necklace form. The bright colors that go with the back and white. The shirts that have the little tie around the waist! I got me a red and white polka dot one:) It's so fun. The only thing I'm NOT digging is the shoes. I don't really like the glossy slides. Ewww. Who knows I may change my mind..I did about the whole blog thing...hehehehe. So anyway, orange is still my most super favorite color, but for now I'm living in black, white, and red moment. Have a great week friends!

A funny

A distinguished young woman on a flight from Ireland asked the priest beside her,
"Father, may I ask a favor?"
"Of course. What may I do for you?"
"Well, I bought an expensive woman's electronic hair dryer for my mother's birthday that is unopened and well over the Customs limit, and I'm afraid they' ll confiscate it. Is there any way you could carry it through Customs for me? Under your robes perhaps?"
"I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn you: I will not lie."
"With your honest face, Father, no one will question you."
When they got to Customs, she let the priest go ahead of her.
The official asked,
"Father, do you have anything to declare?"
"From the top of my head down to my waist, I have nothing to declare."
The official thought this answer strange, so he asked,
"And what do you have to declare from your waist to the floor?"
"I have a marvelous instrument designed to be used on a woman, but which is, to date, unused."
Roaring with laughter, the official said, "Go ahead, Father. Next!"

I'm not perfect...

Are you back on your chair? I know you fell off...

This week I have come to the realization I'm not perfect. I am not symmetrical. First, it was my boots. I have these "tall" boots that the left leg always kinda slouched. The right boot would hug my calf nicely and always stay in place. That left boot..... slouch, slouch, slouch. Have you read the Ramona books? I had elephant ankle. Instead of pantyhose, it was a boot!

Anyway, so I thought it was a freak thing. Maybe one boot was bigger than the other, perhaps even defective. Than I bought a new pair of ballet-ish slip on shoes(black sparkly-very cute). I wore them to work, and guess what? By the end of the day my left foot had a blister on the heal. While my right foot was just fine! My left foot is slightly smaller! AGH! Maybe my left calf is also smaller that's why the boot didn't fit well. What next?

Well, I'll tell you!

My ear!

My left ear is also smaller. I've been working with my ipod on during the day. I will of course have to take the ear buds out to talk to to people. Well let me tell you. After a few in and outs my ear was killing me!! Didn't bother my right ear. JUST THE LEFT! My left ear is smaller!

Can you believe all this? What is the world coming to????

Deep Thoughts by Angel .......

I admit it. I'm a customer service queen. I provide excellent customer service. Even I when I don't want to. On my worst day, my customer service is good. I don't know if it's the businesses or the people or both, but CS in the world to today sucks. For example:

Just awhile ago at Wal-mart I was checking out. Did the cashier say hello? no. How are you? no. NOTHING. Oh, but she did proceed to pull out her cell phone and start TEXTING while I was swiping my CC to pay! Wal-mart has the new thing on the scanner screen that says, "did your cashier greet you? Yes or No". Sad thing is I have yet to use the magic pen to touch yes. They are all awful! To make matters worse, when I'm leaving I say "thank you, have a great day". Does she she get a clue that she is supposed to say that to me??? NOPE. She says "your welcome" What the hell is wrong with her?

So I'm pondering this. I'm thinking, she must not really care(duh) b/c it's not her business. Surely if you own your own business you would put customer service on the top of your list, b/c they would be he meat and potatoes of what you do. You'd think right. Well, as I'm driving stewing over how mad I am. I get cut-off. Not by just anyone though. I get cut off by Jack. Who is Jack you say? He is the owner of Jack's Roofing. I know this because he not only has it plastered in the back window of his truck, it's all down the side. Hmmmm, does he realize that when he puts himself out there like that he is literally a driving advertisement for his business. Now no matter what I will NEVER call Jack's Roofing. I don't care how many other people may say he's wonderful. He provided me with bad customer service and lost a potenial customer without ever even knowing.

Everyday in our life we provide customer service. We may not actually serve customers, but we are all putting ourselves out there and representing something. How you treat people while you are representing will make a world of difference to someone else who is noticing your behavior, even if you are not. It all comes back to one basic life principal.

Treat others how you want to be treated.

ALL I WANT IS 3 PAIRS OF PANTS!!

At my new job I can't wear capris or gauchos :( At my old job I could. So, being as I live in Texas that was 1/2 my work wardrobe. My work clothes have literally been cut in half. I have like 5-6 pairs of pants. So I have been on the hunt for new ones:) An UNsuccessful hunt..grr.... I have been to Target, Lane Bryant, Kohl's, Cato(2 different ones!) and nothing! It's spring in Texas and every is selling Capris. The few pairs of pants that I have found are way to pricey!!! I mean what's a girl gotta do to get some reasonably priced clothing?????

One week down...forever to go....

Not in a bad way. I like my job(so far), but when I went back to work I never intended it to be forever. A means to an end, a temporary bump in the road. I enjoyed being a stay at home mom. I loved it. I hated going back to work, bit I did it for our family, for Jason. He always said when he worked his way back up to his army salary(plus any COLA increases) I could go back to being a SAHM.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

He told me this week he doesn't think I'll ever be a SAHM again. Or should I say he doesn't want me to be. He said he doesn't think our family will ever be able to survive on 1 salary again. I'm not sure why he thinks this because well...he doesn't pay the bills. He has NO idea the cost for anything in the house. He just uses the check card to buy what he wants unless I tell him to cool it. 98% of the time he doesn't even know when his payday is. So how can he say that he wouldn't be able to afford it again? It's times like these that I struggle. I struggle with the predicament he put our family in. I struggle to remain supportive and upbeat. I struggle. I don't WANT to work. I WANT to be home with my kids. Working in classrooms, organizing room parties, volunteering in the office. I want to clean the house, do the laundry, and grocery shop while they are at school so I don't have to take the time away from them to do it while they are home with me.

Honestly....

I want to go back to Sherman.
Pre-Army BS of course.
I was happiest there.
Why does hindsight have to be 20/20??

Nightmare

I had a hard time sleeping last night. I was having a horrible dream that would not end. It was like it was looped. Same thing over and over. I even woke up a few times, and when I went back to sleep it was there again. Nobody died, just one of my deepest fears revisited.

bad night

savannah is sick. she had fever all last night and threw up at the dinner table. She came into our room and needed attention all night(meds, water, tlc). then at 3 i woke up with a migraine. got in a scalding hot shower for 20 minutes, took some excedrin and my migraine pill(the last one). i feel tons better now. BUT my beautiful straightened hair is curly again and between savannah and the migraine i got very little sleep. i hope this today goes fast so i can go back to bed.....

First Day

I'm sure I'll complain about it later, but the drive was nice. It was nicer going to work, than home from work, but nice nonetheless. Just me, the mini van, and some music. It was even pretty enough to have the windows down and a breeze blowing through.
I didn't really "work" today. That will be next week. This week is HR training...sexual harassment...company history...don't do insider trading.....you know the usual.
I can't wait to get with my group. I met one of the ladies today. Her name is Angelique or Angelica or something like that. Not sure who she is or where she works exactly, but she's around me somewhere. And her name is awesome...wink..wink...wink...
All else is well. Sis has her $$$ appointment tomorrow for school. Pray for lots o financial aide for her!

Last Day.....

While I am super excited to be starting my new job. I'm very sad to be leaving some of my peeps from the old one. I will not miss the job. I will miss the people.
This is the fabulous new bag my assistant Kim got for me.
She said I needed a new handbag for my new job.
(Kim is a purse girl!)
I will miss her the very most.
We both cried when she gave me my card and gift.

Me and Kim on my last dayThis is the chocolate that one of my customers brought me on Friday!
She is so sweet!
Kim again, just cause she's so darn cute:)
Saturday evening we had our monthly D3 party/Angel goodbye party.
We met up at Fuddruckers for some yummy burgers and conversation.
After that we headed over to local bar for some karaoke.
This is Shannon, she is the store manager at the Hulen store(no her hair is not permed)
Last but not least is "Big Daddy" Roy. I love this guy. He's smart, witty,
and one of the best managers I've ever had. He has so many great things in store for him.

I'm off to get the kiddos in bed, so I can bathe and prepare for my big day!

Short Timers

I have that syndrome. You know, the one where your close to being done with something, or something is close to being over and you're just antsy as all get out? Yup, I have it. BAD! I have 4 days left at CWF and they are dragging and I'm so antsy. It'd be different if we were busy and my mind stayed occupied, but we're not and it doesn't.

I'm scared but also excited to start my new job. Scared b/c its something different. I'm sure I can do it, and that I'll do it well, but it's still new. New is different. New is scary. Yet exciting. I'm so ready for new.

Passionate Kisses

These are what every woman wants. Oh, and we don't want them to lead to sex or to get them only during sex. Jason and I were talking about this the other night. Let me re-phrase, I talked Jason listened. One thing that we've been very good about is keeping passion in our relationship. I have always said I don't want to be one of those couples that just exist together. I don't want to be old, gray and wrinkly living with with an old man who burps, farts, and has hair growing out of his ears. I want to still be in love. I want to be that gross old couple on the beach that can't keep their hands off each other and ruin all the young people's vacations. I expect, demand and have received that passionate love.

Until recently....

We've been in a funk. No real reason. Well, I guess life is a reason. Work, schedules, stress, kids, oh yea, did I mention life? We haven't made time to just be together. Just us. We used to, but we got out of the habit. Such is life. On Friday we went to dinner, it was nice. Not at first though. At first it was awkward, uncomfortable, and down right awful. Had we made a mistake? Was the 10 years of passion just luck? A fluke? I hoped not. He hoped not. Yet we were still silent........

Finally the dam broke. Words, emotions, hurt, happiness, thoughts, desires, memories spilled out. We talked, and talked, and talked, like we hadn't talked in years(okay, months!) We talked about some stuff that I had said that hurt him, and of course I had no clue. We talked things from my childhood that he never knew. We talked about my feelings of inadequacies, and how I deal with them, or don't deal with them.... Along with all these words came the passion. The passion that had been on hold for a few months, the passion that I prayed was still there but couldn't find. Jason and I are not normally the type of people that hang on to stuff. We say what we have to say, we get it out in the open, and we move on. We don't get mad at each other often, and when we do, we don't stay mad..because we talk about it. We hadn't been talking, that was our problem. We had put everything else before us, so there was a failure to communicate. One thing that cannot exist in a successful marriage is a failure to communicate. You have to make a plan, a schedule, a time to communicate. And we weren't, we were letting it slip to the side. We've learned our lesson.

SOOOO.........

I got new panties.

I bought a size too big.

Nothing is more annoying then walking and having your panties slide down your butt.

'Cept having to stick your hands down your pants to pull them up.

IT'S A BOY!

That's right! At 5:11 this morning Staci gave birth to beautiful baby boy. Morgan Eugene Thompson weighed in at 9 lbs and 7 oz and is 19 1/2 inches long! I am going to the hospital this evening to visit, so there will be pictures later:)

Today was good

I worked, but I was out of there by 2. YIPEE!! Misty and I took the girls to payless to BOGO and I got some super cool shoes. They have orange in them:) Then sister and I dropped the young off with friends and we hit the road. Sister time. We went and got pedicures and our eyebrows waxed. Then headed over to Arlington to go to Dirty Dillards for some shopping. Sadly, they were closed by the time we got there. So we went to recollections, target, and got some yummy dinner instead.

Tomorrow we will be heading back to D.D. They have an extra 50-75% off their already 75% off prices! Sweet!

I'll post pics of my goodies tomorrow. My shoes are super cool, and so are my new scrap supplies:)

She's not going to die!

We know this. All rational viewers know this. It's Grey's Anatomy for crying out loud, but that does not mean we are not on the edge of our seats. It does not mean our hearts don't ache. I know. It's a show, but it's my show! And right now, I hate Izzy. She was my fave, but what she said to George was just ugly and hurtful, and I don't believe it. I think Callie is awesome and good for George. A lot better than toxic Meridith was. Anyway....enough of fake life. Back to reality....

I GOT THE JOB!

Yup, I got it! They called me yesterday and offered it to me. Woo-Hoo! Tomorrow I have to give my 2 weeks. I'm pretty excited. Saturdays..you know those days where people rest and hang out with family's and friends...I'm gonna have those!!! YIPEE!!!

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

I got to watch Veronica Mars! WOO-HOO! It feels like I never get to watch this show anymore and I LOVE it so much. I've missed a few. Logan and Veronica are broke up AGAIN! GRRR! But another person was murdered, so more storyline.

All is well. I'm feeling better. Not 100%, but better.

Sleep, Sleeping, Slept

That's pretty much what I have done today. I woke up this morning feeling like you know what. Coughing, sore throat, body aches, and lil bit of a fever. So I called in sick. This is the first time I have called in sick in the over 11 months I have worked for CWF. I don't feel bad about it. I even turned off my cell phone b/c I didn't want calls. I just wanted to rest. Which I did. Jason gave me nighttime robotussin at 8 so that knocked me out for awhile. Woke up, hung out watching TV for a bit, then took a bubble bath, and went back to bed for a while. Now I'm up trying to decide if we should make dinner or pick up pizza. Gotta love Little Ceasers $5 hot and ready pizza!

Hangin' with the sis tonight

See ya'll tomorrow :)

Tuesday, February 06, 2007

I don't really want to post today.....

but I did this damn challenge! GRRRRRR.

Anyway, feeling pretty crappy. Me and the sister are fighting. Well, sort of. When we fight we don't talk. We Blog Fight. It's so stupid. I think we are the only people that do it. For some reason when she's mad at me she won't say it. She hurt my feelings, I hurt her feelings......blah, blah, blah. I wish we could talk about it, but she can't. I don't know why. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells with her. If I ask to many questions, I'm nosey and judgemental. I back off and let her have her space and I'm ignoring her and sitting on the computer all the time. I can't mind read. I don't know what she wants. I don't know what to do. She loves me, at least I think she does. She once had these wonderfully kind words to say about me....

my hero is my big sister. that girl has it together and makes it look so easy. and i just struggle to be in her shadow. she's smart, funny, loving and tough. she always knows what questions to ask, who to ask and what to do. i wish i was more like her. sure would make my life alot easier.

We'll get through it. We always do. I wish we could talk and we wouldn't have to fight like this.

Well, the day STARTED out great.....

This was gonna be a good day. I felt it. Boy was I wrong!

I had an interview this morning. I really want the job. The company is great. The pay is a little less than what I make now, but I will not have to work Saturdays!!! Can I get a woo-woo! So looking forward to that. I'll keep you posted!

BUT.....

Then I went to work. One of my very good friends from one of the other stores got fired. No warning, no re-training opportunity. He came to work, put his key in the door, and it didn't work. His position had been terminated. I think it's b/c he's gay. One of the managers had made disparaging remarks about gays to another manager and mentioned his name. Totally sucks.

THEN.....

I read my sister's blog. It really hurt my feelings. We are so alike in some ways, and so different in others. It's weird. I guess all siblings are like that. I'll get over it. I'm pretty used to having my feelings hurt by now.

AND THE ICING ON THE MONDAY CAKE...........

I normally love mail. Not today though. We got a letter from DFAS. They finally got around to charging us for the car Jason wrecked. I had hoped they'd forgotten. They didn't. We now owe them $4,288.81 plus interest.

SO, HOW WAS YOUR MONDAY??????

Bad Blogger

I love blogging. I love reading blogs of others. It's great to know what's going on in the lives of my friends since I do not get to see them or talk to them every day. I love going to someones blog and seeing they have updated. What will they say? Is it going to be a big announcement? Will it be sad? Funny? Interesting? You learn a lot about people from their blogs. So why haven't I blogged? So that my friends can be happy when they see an update about my life. No reason. Just lazy and tired. I think about it, then I think about what I would say, then I don't do it. There are lots of people who read this blog that I don't know. Or I do know them, but they don't let me know they read the blog by leaving comments. Therefore I try to be politically correct. I don't want to hurt anyone, offend anyone, or blow a secret that another may not know. I also don't want to bore with frivolous info, or brag about my insanely smart and kids kids all the time. I don't want to complain or seem petty. So, what's a girl to do?

Just blog. If I offend someone. I'm sorry. If I hurt you feelings. I'm sorry. If you don't want to read info that will not not make you smarter, read another blog. Don't think my kids are insanely cute and smart? Seek life elsewhere. It's my blog. So I can do whatever I want. Yea, for me being a grown-up! I'll try to do better about blogging. I'm challenging myself to blog everyday this week. Even if it is just about my(boring) day. I also challenge the people who are regular readers of my blog to do the same. If you don't have a blog I challenge you to get one!!! It's such an awesome tool for staying connected(when properly updated.)

Update! Update!

So I betcha thought I died. Nope, still here. Nothing to exciting going on, so I didn't have much to post about. Let's see if I can drum up some news from the past few days.....

  • Jason started his new job. So far he likes it. The hours suck and the pay sucks even worse, but I am willing to deal with this as long as he's happy.
  • Jonathan and Elize preformed in the talent show on Thursday. They did great! As far as I know no awards were being given, but if they were Elize and her friend would get one. They did so good. Elize is so naturally athletic, and has a dancers body, she blew the socks off all the other girls who danced.
  • Ashyra has an Afro-mullet. It's the cutest thing you've ever seen! Long and curly in the back, super short on top. This is not by choice. No cutting devices have been near her hair.
  • Savannah got a workbook at Wally world yesterday that she is super excited to work in. She is really liking doing these workbook pages. We had fun doing a few tonight. She has yet to chose her 'niche'. Her thing that is hers. I'm sure it will come soon. For now she is just kinda floating, from interest to interest.
  • My collections girl got fired. Her replacement starts tomorrow. The new girl seems nice. Very chatty on the phone. Hopefully she won't have as many issues as the last one.
  • With Jason's crappy hours I've gotten to spend lots-o-time with my sister these past few days. I'm loving it. We've gotten back to the point were we are finishing each others sentences. I missed that. God should give everyone little sisters to love.

The Lost Art of Letter Writing

Today I bought stamps. I don't mail things often. I should be better at it. I don't send pictures of my kiddos like I used to. My goal this weekend is to send pictures of my children to friends and family that do not have computers. I would also like to include a hand written note! Gasp! I have seriously defaulted on many relationships due to my schedule. I want to let these people know I love them and think of them often.

A Monday funny

After the christening of his baby brother in church, little Johnny sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car........
His father asked him three times what was wrong.
Finally, the boy replied,
"That priest said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I want to stay with you guys"!

Lips

My good friend Melibelle made me my own very(and I mean VERY) cool digi sb stuff. I'm to impatient to learn the in's and out's of digi sb-ing, but I LOVE using the digi elements to spice up pictures. It's much more simple, I can actually wrap my brain around it. Here is a pic I altered with some digi stuff. I love how it turned out. The quote is from a song called Lips like Morphine. It's not a drug song. It's a actually a love song.

I don't like my nose. I may redo it with just the lips and crop out the nose. Adobe is so awesome and confusing, it give me a brain ache just thinking of all the cool stuff that can be done with it. 99% of which I can not understand yet. Meli taught me(and Lou) the basics, but I still have a lot to learn. Off to change more photos!

Winter Blues

Thanks to everyone who e-mailed or called me after my past few posts. It's nice to know people worry if I'm not my normal peppy self. I'm just feeling blah. No real rhyme or reason. Just blah. I think it's the winter blues. The weather is so depressing. I of course have to work for a company that doesn't close, no matter how bad the weather. I'm waiting for the emergency vehicle only alert. I'm so not going to work on that day!

Jonathan really wanted to sing a praise and worship song in the school talent show. The powers that be said no. It broke his heart, he cried. I mean sobbed! When I asked why he was so upset he said it was because he wanted to sing a song about Jesus, because he loved him. What an awesome kid. It made me want to cry. Who came up with separation of church and state anyway? Obviously not a Christian. I told him that it was a "talent" show and maybe he should get together with one of his friends to show the school how to throw and catch the football. That is definitely one of his talents!

I miss Katina. I miss all my friends, but I really miss Katina. I 'm used to talking to her everyday. Either during work, or on IM. The past few weeks we've both been so busy it's insane. She now has a job where she is not bored 7 1/2 hours of the day. Yipee for her. Sad for me. I'm lost. I feel like I have NO idea what is going on in any ones life. Including my own half the time.

Jason quit at GR Morris. It was a hard decision for him. He really liked the people. The position wasn't what he had anticipated. He starts his new job on Monday. Please pray for him. I'm not 100% sold on it yet. He is still thinking about going to school in April. If he does we need to move. I figured our taxes tonight and we owe 432 bucks. Doesn't that suck? I'm really not digging 2007 anymore than 2005 and 2006. I'm trying very hard to be positive, I'm prying continually, and I'm still frustrated. What else is a girl to do???

Where's the snow?

Today is a "snow day". I'm not sure where the snow is though. Most of the bushes and shurbs are not even covered! I did talk to Jason 20 minutes after he left for work and he wasn't even to I-35 yet though. So I guess the roads are pretty bad. As someone who grew up with real snow days, this just seems crazy!

First(and probably only) digi lo

I see why it has appeal. You can put one of these together pretty quick.
Some of the overlays, and such are very cute.
But it's not me.
I like "fondling" my products, touching the paper.
Feeling the lumpiness of my layouts.
I thought since I hadn't been scrapping in a while this would fill a void.
It didn't.
To me, it doesn't have personality.
What am I to do with this?
Print it out and put it in a book?
It doesn't seem the same.
Cuz' it's not.

I have been scolded for not being a better blogger. I have so much I want to tell, yet at the same time nothing to tell. Does that make sense???

We are looking into moving. Jason is thinking about going back to school, if he does then we'll need to downsize. No, we are not selling any children. Just looking into an older home. Still 3-4 bedrooms, just not with the hefty rent we pay now. It'll be really hard for awhile. I'm honestly not sure if I'm ready. I'm trying to be really supportive, but it's hard. I'd be the majority of the income for 11 months. Jason would get his GI bill but it's not the same as a regular pay check. I need security. It's been a LONG time since I've had it and it's wearing on me. I need Jason to want to go to work, and to like his job. Maybe even love it. I need to know that everything is going to be OK. I feel like my life is in constant upheaval. I hate that. I feel like I have no control over anything and that any minute the floor is going to be pulled from underneath me. Overwhelmed doesn't even scratch the surface of how I feel. I want a break. A long one. From all of it.

com·mit·ment
Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kuh-mit-muhnt] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1. the act of committing.
2. the state of being committed.
3. the act of committing, pledging, or engaging oneself.
4. a pledge or promise; obligation:
I'm making commitments instead of resolutions this year. No one keeps resolutions. They're like a diet, it's short term. Not a lifestyle change. That's what I need, a life style change. There are a million things running through my head, things I like about myself and my life. Things I do not. I need to change them, and I need help. I'm putting my commitments on my blog so that I see them everyday, I'll be able to monitor my progress and step it up if I start slacking. And I will, I'm human. 2005 and 2006 were 2 of my worst years on record, I pray and hope that 2007 will be wonderful. A year of growth, learning, love, and happiness.

I found it!!!

Now that the Christmas season is upon us the kids have been talking about Christmas cookies. Well, if you live in north Texas you know not all Christmas cookies are created equal. Ms. Kitty(Staci's mom) has passed down THE BEST homemade sugar cookie recipe. When I say the best I mean absolutely fan-tab-u-lous! Anyway, so I thought that I had lost my copy of the secret family recipe(or maybe Joe sold it....), but last night while cleaning, I FOUND IT! YIPPEEE~!! So this weekend we will be sugar cooking making fools. Thanks Kitty and Staci!

P.S. No, you can't have a copy of the recipe, I had to be in the circle of trust for YEARS before I got it!! Your day will come too....in 2011...hehehehehehhe......

I Quit!

It is ridiculous that I work more than anyone else in this family, yet I'm still expected to carry the majority of the workload at home too. Hello? Does anyone else live here? I asked "someone" to help me put away laundry, and oh my, did the world end? What? Help? I only live here and expect clean underwear, but I shouldn't under any circumstances have to actually put those underwear away.
Heaven forbid!!
I get 1 day off. 1 day! Do you know what I do on that 1 day? Clean and do laundry. All day most of the time. Now granted I do get a little break to do things like go grocery shopping! Woo-hoo! I'm foot lose and fancy free now!!! My life is consumed by work and household chores. I wish that some of the other people who lived in my house who help just a little bit. If I don't do it, it doesn't get done. I believe I have led them to think that I am the one who does it all. Which was fine when I was a SAHM. I didn't mind doing all for everyone. I can't now, it's too much. I get like an hour a day with my kids, 2 if I'm lucky. I can't do it all. And no one cares. No one cares that I work all these hours, that I still make time to go to school functions for my kids, that I'm still doing household chores, that I'm paying the bills to make sure they have a house to live in, that I'm taking care of all this "little" stuff to help everyone. It's expected of me. I feel very little appreciation. NO ONE asks how I'm doing. It's all about them. I hate my job, blah, blah, blah. Don't we all?. I don't want to work! I guess since I don't complain about my situation on a daily basis I must love it. Right?

Holy Moly! What is this? My baby is 8? I can't believe it. I could bore you with the infertility story of how it took us 18 months to get Pregnant. Talk about the all junk we had to go through, tell about how we got pregnant during the month when the Dr. said there was no chance. Then go into detail about the horrible and troubled pregnancy I had(2 hospital stays!!Before the birth!) BUT I won't!! All that matters is I have a son who ROCKS!
I mean he is awesome.
He is smart
handsome
thoughtful
nice
considerate
fun
and in general a good kid.
Does he have his moments?
Of course.
But I wouldn't trade him for anything.
I LOVE THIS BOY!!!
Happy Birthday Big Daddy!!!

We had a blast. It was great getting the special treatment. Catered food, free drinks. toilets with doors made of wood. It's high society on the admiral level at the AA center. the game was good, not near as rowdy as the playoff of game. Fun nonetheless. I'm exhausted, but I'm waiting till Jason gets home home from taking D home. So I'm on the puter catching up on e-mails and such. I feel so out of the loop.

Ten....a chi is a flat iron. it's supposed to be better for your hair cuz it has ceramic plates. it makes my hair feel pretty :)

THAT'S HOW I FEEL. IT'S BEEN A LONG WEEK AND IT ISN'T OVER YET. LAST NIGHT I WENT TO BED AT 9. WELL, ACTULLY I FELL ASLEEP ON THE COUCH WATCHING CHRISTMAS SHOWS WITH THE KIDS AROUND 8:30. I WENT TO MY BED AT 9. TONIGHT IS THE MAVS GAME. I SHOULD BE EXCITED, I'M NOT. I'M EXHAUSTED.
53.75
THAT'S HOW MANY HOURS I WORKED THIS WEEK, ON TOP OF ALL MY OTHER DUTIES. I EVEN CAME IN LATER THAN NORMAL A FEW DAYS, AND LEFT A LITTLE EARLIER A FEW TOO. SAD.

Exhausted

I think when I get done posting this I am going to bed. I'm SO tired, and it's only Wednesday. What's a girl to do?? Monday I got home from my meeting at 11pm(thanks G and L, I had an awesome time!!). Tuesday I got home at 10:30, and still had to make 2 posters for PTO and make our class basket for the silent auction look pretty! This morning I was up and out at 7:30. I took the kiddos to school, and worked in the office doing PTO stuff until 9:30 when I went to work. Jonathan's teacher said there was no reason for me to come tonight, he is doing very well. Yipee! I tiny break.

In VERY exciting news....
I GOT A CHI!!
Not just any chi, the turbo chi. i wish i could give a review, but I haven't actually used it yet. I did however get it for an awesome price. It was originally 169.99. Bed, Bath and Beyond price matched Target, so it was 79.99, THEN they take competitors ads(even after the price match!) and I got another 20% off! It came out to be 64 bucks! Can you believe it? I'm in heaven!

If you get a chance click on Melibelle's name(see the right side), and check out her new digi stuff she's been doing. It's very cool!

Katina, Staci, and Justyne: If I'm this busy and can still update, you can too!

Not just for scrapbooking anymore!

Tonight I used my cricket to make signs for the PTO. Sweet huh? It made it so super easy. This thing has endless possibilities! I'm so glad I got it. I have yet to use anything on page, but I will...soon. Don't they look great? I love that it can cut letter so big. And look how smart I was to use the negative pieces on the 2nd on and not waste paper. That O gave me a hard time though.

It is really thunder booming out! It's supposed to freeze and ice over. Texans can't drive, so it will be crazy out tomorrow on the interstate, and in town. Makes me very thankful I work only 3 miles from home. I haven't forgotten about pics from the SS exchange, i promise. I'm just lazy! Ok, not lazy. Tired and busy. Will do it soon.
Stella, are you reading this? I saw on Sherri's board you were in FW. Are you still here? If so give me a holler, maybe we can meet for dinner, I'd love that!!!!

Christmas Spirit

Yup, that's my baby girl under a tree. Poor thing, she was a very good sport about it all. We decided this year to get a real tree. Once purchased we of course had to get it home. We were going to tie it to the roof, but I frankly I didn't have the patience for that. I laid down one of the back seats, told Savannah to scoot over and wa-la! It fit. She wasn't very comfortable for about 8 minutes while we drove home, but she made it through.

Crying

that's what i've felt like doing all day. it's so not like me. i mean i'm a sentimental crier, movies and such, but to in general just cry? no way. i don't do public displays of emotion. all day, i'll i've wanted to do is sob uncontrollably. but i haven't. what good would it do? it's pointless. it doesn't fix anything, it certainly doesn't make me feel better. it'd just make me feel crappier, cause i'd get a headache. i wish it would just go away, but it hasn't. i've been trying to shake it all day. and it's still here. part of me says, cry. then the feeling would go away. my other part says, stop being such a baby and suck it up. for those of you who don't know me very well, suck it up is my motto. suck it up and pray. that's what i say. can't change anything any other way. so i'm sucking, i'm going to try and busy myself so i don't think about the undeniable, uncontrollable urge to break down.

Another badass quiz from eSPIN-the-Bottle...

The eSPIN Personality Test

MY RESULT:The Thinker

You're smart, and you know what? You totally know it.

You value brains above almost anything else, which is pretty good. (Better than valuing, say, booties). But you also tend to get cocky about your own intelligence.

Keep up with the intellectual pursuits, but don't be afraid to be wrong every once in a while. Seriously - stupidity can be cute!

Nightmare

i had a nightmare light night that Savannah was hit by a car. and no one cared, but galynn. the car of girls who hit her ran off. i called 911 but they said all their ambulances were in east texas and they "might" be able to see her if we brought her in. bring her in, i screamed? she was ran over, thrown up in the air and landed on her head, and you want me to move her! she woke up slightly and said nothing hurt, so I picked her up and began walking to the nearest ER. Along the way i ran into galynn and her husband and they helped. i saw my mom too, but she was too busy smoking to help. after this i woke up. i immediately rolled over and put my arm around Savannah(who was of course in my bed!) and snuggled with her. I hate dreams like this. i used to have them abut misty all the time. i hope i don't start having them again. anyway, i just needed to get it out before i forget. tomorrow is turkey day folks. yippeee~!

My son was invited to a sleepover.......a girl's sleepover.....

Last night Jonathan gave me an invitation to Loren's party. Loren is one of his "girlfriends". I asked if we wanted to go and he said yes. I told him I would pick up a gift today and daddy would drop him off.
"But, momma I want to pick out Loren's present."
HUH? Never in 8 years of buying birthday gifts has Jonathan actually picked out the gift, or even wanted too. When I asked him why he said he wanted to make sure it was special. Umm, okay. When I get to the party to pick him up, he is the only boy except the the girls' brother. Loren comes up to me and says
" Can Jonathan stay the night at my house? I am having a slumber party after the bowling is over".
HUH? (yes, again!) I tell her I have to think about it. Then Jonathan comes and asks me! Holy Moly! Then Loren and her friend pull Loren's mom in to the corner gigging.
"What are they doing", I'm thinking.
So Milla(loren's mom)comes over and says, the girls just asked me if Jonathan can stay the night. I tell her that Jonathan and Loren already asked me too. We laugh, we talk, and we decide that Jonathan can go over there for the evening and I'll pick him up at 9. Can you believe this? I thought this was over.
Later Jonathan was sitting at a table alone. The girls were running and playing trying to get his attention. I called him to me, and asked him if want his was doing, and if anything was wrong.
"Mom, I was watching the biggest college football games in history"
Oh. Maybe I don't have so much to worry about after all........
