Civilian
This is what I have been for 24 hours now. It's weird, part of me feels like I've been a civilian since August 2001 when we came into recruiting, and part of me feels like I'll never really be a civilian. As long as I've been been an adult, I've been connected to the Army. I have never been just a wife it's always been SPC Hallock's wife, SGT Hallock's wife, an Army wife, the squad leaders wife, SSG Hallock's wife, the Station commanders wife. Now I am Mr. Hallock's wife. Mr Hallock??? What's up with that? It sounds so......Normal. There was(and is) pride in your last name being fronted by a military rank. It sounds noble. Now were normal, not that normal is bad, it's very good in this case. It'll just take a little getting used to......

No offense, but Mr. Hallock does sound a bit weird :) Could you imagine Sean as Mr. McGlensey?
I know exactly how you feel. It will take a little getting used to, but believe me, normal is good too. After a while it will just be. You'll always have those memories of the military and the pride that comes along with that! Embrace it.
wow. I totally get that. As I was reading it conjured up a lot of emotions in me too. Hugs to you!
